IT’S COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT IF YOU TAKE A BEAUTIFUL ROCK FROM HAWAII, YOU WILL BE CURSED WITH BAD LUCK.

WE KNOW IT’S TEMPTING TO TAKE A SOUVENIR ROCK HOME, SO USING THE POWER OF 3D SCANNING & PRINTING WE’VE SORTED OUT A WORK AROUND.

Whenever we go for a hike in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, we pick a rock (usually it’s one that we feel people would want to take home with them) and we scan it right there in the field. The rock gets placed back where we found it.

When we’re back in the studio, we process the data and print the rock. That’s it. The result is an exact (but fun and colorful) replica! We have plans in the works for an installation project with the Curse Free Rocks. Stay tuned!
